Good for Joe. I don't know why people still kowtow to either Curley or Spanier. They're both useless administrators. They had a conversation on ESPN Classic defending the B(C)S as to why it's not responsible for a DI-A playoff, and Spanier said something about the fact that the "kids need to go to class".

While it may seem like a double standard that I support a playoff yet also supported Joe's decision to hold the kids out of a press day junket, follow me for a second:

1. Junkets are usually held on Tuesdays (given the format of MOST college and professional press conferences). Games in this format, one would assume, are held on Thursday night/Friday night/Saturday.

2. STATISTICALLY, the athletes that miss the FEWEST classes in their season are FOOTBALL players, and to be quite honest, nobody cares about Friday classes, anyway, so that argument holds about as much water as Graham Spanier can hold his liquor during a case race at the 'Skeller.

3. I don't see any of the DI-AA schools complaining. They seem to be as good as, if not better than, their DI-A counterparts academically. Again, the argument is weak, at best.

4. It boils down to one simple fact: money. The current bowl structure needs to be revamped in order to accomodate a playoff. Sure, they'll lose revenue, but only because they'll make their decisions on the matchups after the main playoff happens. I don't know about you, but some of these matchups seem to be thrown together way to hastily, and way too early in December to even seem profitable.

Anyways, I'm done venting. You go Joe! Why can't he be president of the university AND AD? Things would get done, personally.
