Oh, so that is what the smoke was

Fire destroys Alexandria Wendy’s restaurantThe Wash. Examiner
ALEXANDRIA, Va. — This morning, not long after I turned onto Van Dorn Street southbound, I noticed the smell of something burning. As I approached Duke Street things started to get a little smoky and I wondered what was on fire. This afternoon, I learned from the article linked above that is the Wendy’s closest to my condo. As you can see in my flickr set, it was gutted by the fire.

I may have gone to that Wendy’s three times over the last six years. Fritz used to near there for about five years, so I went there once or twice. I also went once while we were moving into our condo. It was never busy when I went there.

Thankfully, the only injury — a firefighter, does not appear to be severe.
