Prior to yesterday’s Capitals vs. Flyers game, I said this:
I kind of think winning in overtime/shootout would be the best possible scenario for building confidence, but beggars can’t be choosers.
What do you know, that is actually what happened.
The Caps built up a 3-0 lead, got into penalty trouble and dealt with some questionable officiating and saw Philly tie it up. Washington took care of business in overtime though, with Alex Ovechkin feeding birthday boy Nick Backstrom for the gamewinner. He got the face full of shaving cream for his efforts.
