Phillies 2B Chase Utley took out C Jesus Flores in a collision at the plate last night. Flores may not be back this season with a sprained ankle. Utley was out at least. Charlie Manuel, the Fleas manager, likes this kind of play (The Inky), so I guess he’ll be equally delighted when pitches start hitting Utley, Jimmy Rollins and Ryan Howard. Just remember who has the most to lose here Phillies. A season of Nats HBPs is going to catch up to you.
Last night’s loss also means that Cliff has clinched at least a tie in the 3rd Annual Cheesesteak/Half-Smoke Challenge. One more win earns him a trip to Ben’s.
