Ted Lerner needs to back off

Nationals ‘miserable’ on, off fieldThe Wash. Times
Team in crisis
According to this article, Ted Lerner is way too involved in running the franchise and is nickel-and-diming everything.

“Clearly, every decision of any significance is made ultimately by Ted,” a city official familiar with the Lerners’ baseball operation said. “The decision-making and the whole approach starts at the top and remains at the top. And I don’t think anything is going to change significantly as long as Ted is running the team.”

Ultimately, this story just confirms the suspicions of many.

Stan Kasten does not have the control he was expecting and may be leaving; others have already. None of this comes off as surprising at this point, but is still incredibly disappointing nonetheless. Obviously, what needs to happen is Lerner and his sons need to back off and let the baseball people run things. You almost feel sorry for Kasten.
