Snickers Gap: Where we got our Christmas tree
ROUND HILL, Va. — This past Saturday marked our third annual trip to Snickers Gap Christmas Tree Farm. I prefer cutting down my own tree and enjoy taking a trip out into the country to do so. Located on the eastern slope of the Blue Ridge Mountains, the farm is within a mile of the West Virginia border.
The tree selection is mostly firs and spruces. Since there are so many trees, it is not hard to find a good one. This year, we spent about ten minutes looking around before Erica found the tree, a Douglas fir, we picked. After that I took it over to be bundled and purchased. Hint — take advantage of one of the tractor shuttles to get to the barn. Also, bring cash as that line is much shorter. Our tree cost $68. There is also complimentary apple cider there.
Next year should be more fun as Will will be running around.
