Forbes: Nats lost 12% of value last year

A botched first year in a new ballpark and the recession have reduced the Nationals value to $406 million, down from the $450 million the Lerner family paid in 2006. Perhaps this will show the Lerners the folly of doing things on the cheap. Frankly, they deserve this demotion. Their operating income is second in the sport though, just behind the Marlins. They don’t have any excuses to not make things better.

That being said, I think they are starting to get it, just several years too late.
