Navarro Bowman’s probabtion extended

PSU’s Navorro Bowman receives a year of probation for marijuana usePatriot-News
LB Navarro Bowman gets his probation extended and served with outstanding speeding ticket. He’s had a tough go of it lately:

It was believed Bowman had not fulfilled any of the 100 hours of community service he was required to perform as part of his original probation but it appears some charity work he did with the football team will count toward the 100 hours.

Bowman spoke during the hearing but did not address the media afterward. He admitted it is difficult to return home to District Heights, Maryland because drug use and crime are prevalent in his neighborhood community.

“Everyone around me has drugs in my life,” said Bowman,” PSU’s leading tackler in 2008 with 106. He registered 5.5 tackles for loss against USC.

“I hate going home. When I go home, I want to be in State
College.”

Bowman estimated he’s lost about 10 friends to drugs and violence since he’s been at Penn State. But he vowed that he would learn from his most recent probation mistakes.

“I’m telling you, I will not be back in this courtroom again,” Bowman said.

The prosecutor was not impressed. I hope Bowman is serious about “not being back.”

Happier pre-Blue White news is planned tomorrow.
