Bill Ladson gets the voted interview that was “not subject to the approval of Major League Baseball or its clubs” with Mark Lerner, co-owner of the Nationals. Some notworthy parts:
- He makes mention of “smart fans”
- Mentions Mark Teixiera three times
- defends being out of the media/public eye
- scapegoats the media
- says that the manager and general manager positions will be given a full search
- talks about accounting issues and business practices (which no fan cares about one bit)
- Does the a little big time brown-nosing to get Bud Selig to award the All-Star game
All in all, I don’t think this will change your opinion of the Lerner ownership regardless of how you feel about it.
