Nats Dukes, pitchers still trying to meet their potential

At Pivotal Point in Career, Dukes Trying to Step It UpThe Post
It was hoped that RF Elijah Dukes would step up this year and come closer to his potential. That has not happened in my view, in fact he has probably regressed. He was sent to the minors for a while and chases too many pitches out of the strike zone. You have to figure 2010 is his make or break year with Washington, but I don’t think I’d be heartbroken if he got traded for pitching.

Young starters a mystery for NatsThe Wash. Times
Ah, pitching, pitching, pitching! The Nats’ young arms mostly have either arm surgery in their recent past or ERAs over 5.00. The most promising, Jordan Zimmermann, had Tommy John surgery this summer is out until 2011. Craig Stammen also had elbow surgery.
