This American Life at the #1 Party School – Penn State
Public radio show This American Life visited Penn State over the final football weekend of 2009 (vs. Indiana) and examined the drinking culture. They picked Penn State because the Princeton Review said it is the #1 party school in the country. The program’s portrayal of the students is harsh.
The program is 100% accurate too.
It sounds like little has changed since my time there, other than the preference for candy liquor over beer.
The stream of the episode is 1 hour, 10 minutes long.
I loved Penn State despite that culture. Let’s put it this way, an overwhelming majority of my drinks came out of glasses and bottles and not plastic cups. The frat thing never had any appeal.
