More on Penn State’s football season ticket situation

Beaver Stadium reseating fuels mixed feelingsCDT
This big story about Penn State’s Seat Transfer and Equity Plan ran last Sunday. We all know that this is a big money grab, but it may be somewhat necessary , but I know two long-term season ticketholders who are giving up their seats after this season. Those two ticketholders were both close to the goal posts than the 30 yard line and are opting not to pay more to see games like Indiana State and some directional schools.

I blogged about STEP this more extensively last November. My opinions have not changed. Penn State is taking a risk in the age of HD televisions and less gameday parking.

By the way, tomorrow night there will be an Intercollegiate Athletics chat bout STEP.

  1. You forgot the word “unconscionable” when you said “money grab.”

As deeply as I love Penn State, I hope this new ticket plan leaves a lot of egg on their faces, and that they understand very quickly that while our hearts will always bleed blue and white, they don’t bleed green.
