Penn State: McGloin might be the QB, but Bolden isn’t far behind

There is growing speculation that the Penn State Nittany Lions will take the field with Matt McGloin as starting quarterback (Reading Eagle) this fall. The former walk-on from Scranton appears to be beating out expected starter Kevin Newsome. Gray-shirt freshman Paul Jones is expected to redshirt this year. Eralier in the week, the Patriot-News suggseted that Robert Bolden, a true freshman, has been the most impressive QB in camp. Somet think that Bolden will take over from McGloin later in the season. The last true frosh to start at QB for Penn State — Wally Richardson in 1992 in an emergency situation against Temple.

The bad news — with this offensive line, it may not matter who is behind center Patriot-News. Is new center, Doug Klopacz YDR, the key? At the very least spares us seeing Stefen Wisniewski float another shotgun snap to the quarterback.

The Nittany Lions will be fine at linebackerCDT

Football tickets are very expensive now (Patriot-News). Just wait until STEP starts up.
