Penn State: Joe Paterno cleared to return to practice
After being injured in a collision with Devon Smith (who is shorter and lighter than me) Joe Paterno has been released from the hospital and cleared to return to practice (Intercollegiate Athletics). I’m sure Twitter will be ablaze with reports about whether Paterno goes to practice today. Tomorrow is Media Day, so he should be there blowing off quesitons about hairline fractures of his arm and hip.
Returning to practice probably does a few things — one, gives Paterno’s “there is a difference between being hurt and injured” a very visible reminder. Another well, this sort of the thing keeps happening, so let’s not go there.
