Washington Capitals 3 PITTSBURGH PENGUINS 2 (OT)

Dear Washington Capitals, if you start playing a full three periods, you may not have to play an extra one.

Caps outshot in Pittsburgh 41-19, still win. They gave up a point they didn’t have to though.

The Caps were lethargic in the first and third periods, they were lucky the Penguins didn’t put them away early.

Tomas Vokoun played well, gave up a late power play goal off of a stupid Troy Brouwer penalty.

Alex Ovechkin gets first goal of the season. It needed a review though, the goal official didn’t even light the lamp.

Arron Asham
dropped Jay Beagle with two nasty rights; Beagle should have known better.

SHOCKING – No regulation power plays for the Caps.

Dennis Wideman with the game-winner in overtime

The Maryland Bureau Chief Emeritus was there and is presumably not too disappointed to earn a standings point with a backup goalie and other injuries

La Coupe Hauxer is back and off to a roaring start

It has been a TWO POINT NIGHT!
