A brief 2012 Washington Redskins post-mortem (with a chainsaw)

That Washington Redskins season sure was unexpected. I had them at 6-10, they reversed it, won the NFC East and hosted a playoff game. Robert Griffin III surprised expectations by any metric and Alfred Morris came out of no where. It was fun to be a Skins fan.

DC = DRAMA CITY

I won’t add much to the way it all ended other than I know why Mike Shanahan left RGIII in and it was still a poor decision against the Seattle Seahawks.

I just hope they don’t blame the grass field for it and get some improved grounds-keeping instead of a rug.

For the record, this is not as bad a loss as Game 5 in the NL Division series last year. The Washington Nationals losing to the St. Louis Cardinals was much worse and I took that pretty well.

THE DC SPORTS EXPERIENCE SUMMED UP WITH POWER TOOLS

One deep-thinking individual, Chris Cox, likened being a D.C. sports fan to taking a chainsaw to one’s own footwear.

That was before the game. Ultimately, those boots died for that loss. Cox was profiled in the Charleston (S.C.) City Paper in 2011. HTTR good sir. h/t @dcsportsbog
