Professional
News
I have started a new category
today, called "Professional News."
This category will serve to
announce new content that have been
created by myself and my co-workers
at Gannett's Digital Production
Center. Today, we launched our
second site:
The Marietta Times -
Times launches Web site with
community news. Internic calls
it
www.mariettatimes.com and so do
we.
We only have one more pilot left
to launch, which we should do by
the end of the week. Stay tuned.

Personal
News
A big week down in the Digital
Production Center, we have been
chugging away on the three pilots
with
www.ithacajournal.com live, and
the other two live by Memorial Day.
Of course, Weekly William
News will be posting these new
sites.
A while back, I asked viewers to
guess the color of my new car.
Steve Anderson and Chrissa
Pullicino successfully guessed
"blue."
I uploaded the weekly update on
time this week, an event in itself.
Announcements
It is ommmencement time, so
"congraduations" go out to Natalie
Shioji, Steve Anderson, and Brenda
Mayrack for completing their
degrees.
Site of the
Week
This week, "Site of the Week"
returns triumphantly with a rather
obvious selection. : )

News
I have been quite busy at work,
seven consecutive days this week
and began "live hours" - 5 AM -
1:30 PM. However, I can proudly say
that is has gone to good use. On
Saturday, the Digital Production
Center officially launched the
first of twenty-one newspapers,
theithacajournal.com. Of the
three papers, this one the one that
I was the primary producer for, so
it felt quite good to upload it
yesterday morning.
Thursday night, I attended my
first
College of Communications
function as an alumni, the Bart
Richards Award for Media Criticism,
at the
National Press Club. In
addition to seeing the presentation
of the award to Alicia Shepherd, I
got a chance to talk with some of
my favorite people from the
College.

News
Once again, I was late with the
news, so sorry. I will probably get
back on the Thursday schedule next
week. Work has been very busy, so I
have been chilling out when I can
instead.
Another reason for my delay is the
arrivial of one, Kyle J. Thompson
of Charlotte, NC. Just by chance, I
was given two tickets to see the
Orioles today at Camden Yards;
they are playing the hated Red Sox.
Oh, and do not worry that I am
turning on the Yankees here, they
are my team still, even if I wear
Orioles colors today. Thanks to
Gannett for the tickets.

Personal
News
It is a full house down here at
Yurasko.net World Headquaters
again. Yesterday, I went to
Pennsyltucky and helped move my
brother out of
Penn State Altoona. Sadly, the
beloved Olds Wagon, known as Woody,
is ailing and was unable to make
the trip. However, the grief has
been somewhat offset by the
acquisition, by me, of a car of my
own - '91 Olds Cutlass Supreme
four-door. Anybody dare
guess the color?

News
This morning, aganist my better
judgement, I stayed in bed for a
few minutes after my alarm went
off. Naturally, the second song was
a favorite; "Long Distance
Runaround" by Yes. As I was there
in bed, I pondered whether they
would play the song after it on the
record, "The Fish", which is a long
instrumental. That would have
delayed the start of my day another
five minutes. In the end, the radio
only played the first song and
wound up talking about celebrity
"Who Wants to be a Millionaire?"
so, I lept out of bed.
Note to the cast, producers, and
advertisers of the television show
The West Wing - I will never
watch your show. Your filming in
Rosslyn yesterday delayed my
commute by over twenty minutes.
