Friday night, Erica, Brad, and I saw
The World is Not Enough. I thought it was so-so.
The really big news is that
Episode I
is returning to the silver screen for one week in December. It's a shame I'll
be in State College where the theaters are not too great.
Speaking of Star Wars, they seem to have a sense of humor again,
wishing folks a "Happy Life Day," on the Web site for the
Thanksgiving Day holiday. That is from the notoriously bad "Star Wars Holiday Special" which George Lucas has been denying exists for
quite a while.

Penn State has accepted a bid to play in the
Alamo Bowl on Dec. 28, their first non-New Year's Day game in years.
Paterno mentioned Y2K as one of the reasons for accepting the Alamo Bowl bid
in his
press conference.

It's beginning to sound like a broken record, but Penn State
lost another thriller, this time to Michigan State, 35-28 in East Lansing. They were down
28-7 in the third quarter, so they showed great character in coming back to tie.
It looks like another trip to the
Outback Bowl in Tampa or a first time trip to the
Alamo Bowl in San Antonio.
In happier football news,
Yale beat Harvard 24-21, at the Bowl.
They are Ivy League co-champions with Brown this year.

to reach me by phone, call my Vienna number. I will still be receiving
e-mail at my PSU address.
Personal News
Friday night Erica
and I went to see Weird Al at the Jordan Center. We both enjoyed it. I
wrote a story about
it for The Forum.
Sunday morning, my friend Chrissa ('98) and I went to breakfast since
she was in town. Thanks Chrissa, good to see you.
I got a call Sunday night from Tom
Harrison ('96) too.

I was happy to see Slate mention
the DNC's Spanish language site,
in an otherwise less than flattering article.
I spent a good portion of the summer working on "En

Did you find that "GO Network" green light logo to be silly? There
is now a Web site with the "STOP
Network" logo. This was funnier before a federal judge ruled that the
GO light was to similar to Goto.com's light and they had to change it.. |

Football News
For the second consecutive week, Penn State dropped
another game in heartbreaking fashion, 31-27 to Michigan.
This was my last home game as a student at Penn State. I don't know
when I will see another. In the five seasons I was here, they had a 24-7
home record, losing to Wisconsin and Ohio State in '95, Iowa in '96, Michigan
in '97, undefeated in '98 and falling to Minnesota and Michigan in '99.
The highlight of all the years was the '97 Ohio State game. I also saw
them beat Rutgers in '95 at Giants Stadium. |

| Today is Veterans Day, if you know any veterans, acknowledge their
service.
This is the first edition of Weekly William News, a feature that
is going to include site news, some personal news, and items of interest
I have found across the Web. The idea came from Eric Folley's nomadder.com,
I think it is a good one. I actually think that it will be updated a little
more frequently than a week, but my goal is to have a regular Thursday
update.

This morning I heard "How Soon is Now?" or I as like to call it "I am
Human and I Need to be Rubbed," on the radio as my alarm went off. |
