The big news in Nats training camp is pitching, pitching, pitching (The Post, The Wash. Times, The Free Lance-Star, respectively) as in lots of no-names, couldabeens, never-weres, and over-the-hills are trying to start/resurrect their careers with Washington. Rick Snider of The Wash. Examiner is not impressed.

Staff ace John Patterson (The Post) lost in arbitration yesterday and will have to settle for an over 40% raise. The AP/The Wash. Examiner says that clubs are 4-0 in arbitration. Chad Cordero is working on a deal before his case comes up.

OF Ryan Church is going to do his best (The Free Lance-Star) this spring training, but I have to wonder if someone will get the “losers are always talking about their best, winners go home and…” speech from The Rock.

Down in Viera, the groundskeeper (a former Phillies minor leaguer) is ready (Florida Today). C Brian Schneider participated in a Q&A for The Wash. Times too. By the way, washtimes.com now has a Nats section (only took two years) with an incomplete blogroll. They also have a blog called Chatter. Will JANF fan sue? I’ll see if Florida Today is going to get a section up too. Speaking of blogrolls, I have added a bunch of new links to mine. Lastly, Nationals Pride posted (days ago) that Felipe Lopez’s wife is in FHM.

Yet another Washingtonian pushing the ubiquitous Nats/DC sports, Penn State, commuting, bicycling, kayaking, broomball, skiing, gin & tonic agenda.
