It was an ugly, error filled weekend for the Nationals in Atlanta, but on Sunday they avoided the sweep behind three D’Angelo Jimenez hits and a Ryan Church three run shot. Jason Bergmann was solid over six innings to earn his fourth win. Every Nats starter had a hit and Ryan Zimmerman didn’t make any errors, ending a two-day long streak.

Since the nats were in Atlanta, The Wash. Times speculates abotu signing Andruw Jones in the offseason.

Thinskinned Felipe Lopez will talk to the media on the last day of the season (The Post).

In addition to a handful of errors this weekend, Zimmerman was struggling at the plate (The Wash. Times) until he hit a ninth inning homer yesterday.

Dmitri Young tells the Sun-Sentinel (Fort Lauderdale) “I’ve resurrected my life, man.” Young lives in Broward County, not far from where the Nats will be taking on the Marlins.

Yesterday, George Solomon, Post sports editor emeritus, noted that the press box, err media center, will be named for Shirley Povich. It is an obvious move, so obvious that the Redskins did it at FedEx Field instead of selling a sponsorship.
