Jason Marquis made his first Washington Nationals start since April and promptly gave up four runs to the host Los Angeles Dodgers. The Post gamer has a strong lead about Marquis struggles. 2 walks and an error helped put the Nats in a hole they could not crawl out of yesterday. At least Michael Morse and Justin Maxwell hit back-to-back solo home runs in the 2nd to make it interesting for a while and continue the Nats power surge on the road. They lead the NL in road homers post-All Star break. That has not yet yielded any series wins though.

Just as I said I would, I listened to Vin Scully call the action yesterday. Did you know his first professional radio job was at D.C.’s WTOP?
