Coincidentally, Pepsi became the official soft drink of Verizon Center in 2012

Pepsi, Frito-Lay capitalize on fond thoughts of the good ol’ daysUSA Today
Excellent news, Throwback will be a permanent part of the Pepsi product line. Pepsi Throwback was was introduced in 2009 and has been brought back several times since, including this winter. I horde the stuff.

Pepsi Throwback (there is a Mountain Dew version as well) uses sugar instead of high fructose corn syrup. Given the growing concerns about HFCS, I’m quite pleased that I can get my favorite beverage without it. The taste is a little different — I think Throwback has a little less kick and is much more addictive than regular Pepsi.

Also, Frito Lay is making a version of the Doritos that taste like they did in the 1980s. Several years ago, I noticed a change in the taste, for the worse, of regular Doritos, so maybe these retro ones will taste right. I don’t eat Doritos that much any more, so I don’t care that much.
