My introduction to college football was Yale, my father’s alma mater. I got to hear all about the great Yale teams and The Game (he’s still bitter about 1968, but glad he didn’t sell his ticket). I’m going to try and follow and blog a little bit more about the Bulldogs this season.

The season has already begun with a win over the Georgetown Hoyas, 37-27 at the Bowl (New Haven Register | Yale Sports Publicity). The Elis have a Rhodes scholar candidate, Patrick Witt, at quarterback (New Haven Register). He accounted for 4 TDs on Saturday.

This Saturday’s game against Cornell, also from the Bowl is televised on VERSUS at 12:00 p.m. That will almost certainly be a better game than Penn State vs. Eastern Michigan too, though I’ll be watching my alma mater. The October 22 Yale at Penn game is also on VERSUS at noon, as is THE GAME, on November 19 vs. Harvard. YES network has Yale on for 3 consecutive Saturdays — October 29 at Columbia at noon, November 5 vs. Brown at noon and November 11 at Princeton at noon. FULL SCHEDULE

Other Yale home games will be broadcast online.

Oh and that jersey trim on Yale’s uniforms looks spectacular, even if the rest of the uniforms are a little flashy for this Nittany Lion’s taste.
