STATE COLLEGE, Pa. — The Student Book Store is now selling replica signs of Happy Valley bars and landmarks. What a great idea! There are wooden replica signs of several bars, including Cafe 210 West (not pictured), Shandygaff, Adam’s Apple, The Gingerbread Man, The Darkhorse, Sharkies, The Phyrst, The Brewery and others. There are also replica overhead street signs for W. College Ave., E. Beaver Ave., Allen St. and Football Traffic signs. Sadly, two of the bars I frequented the most, Tony’s Big Easy and John Henry’s are defunct and not available. Still, I’d be up for Cafe 210 West and the Phyrst signs to put over my liquor cabinet and I think my wife would like one from the Brewery as well. I could see buying a The Corner Room sign someday too. I’m indecisive about which street sign to get, W. College Ave. or E. Beaver (which I lived on for 2 years). Maybe we’ll get both someday — we need more wallspace!
