Recipe
Chocolate cookies – whatever kind you like. In my home, we more or less use the tollhouse cookie recipe on the Nestlé semi-sweet morsels. One difference – raw turbinado sugar instead of refined white sugar.
Vanilla porter – there are several varieties out there. I landed on Breckingridge Vanilla porter a few years ago and have not looked back.
Background
I have been enjoying this combination for years now. I had picked up some Vanilla porter and we had tollhouse cookies, so I paired them and decided it was a tradition worth starting. I make it a point to have on the winter solstice – it’s my Saturnalia tradition. If we don’t run out of cookies or more likely, have to make a second batch, I continue enjoying them through Christmas.
I imagine it’d work well with brownies too.
